IMPLEMENTATION OF A WATER SAVING AND ARTIFICIAL RECHARGING PARTICIPATED STRATEGY FOR THE QUANTITATIVE GROUNDWATER LAYER REBALANCE OF THE UPPER VICENZA'S PLAIN. (LIFE 2010 ENV/IT/380)
The current climate changes, widely acknowledged in literature, require the development and the implementation on a large scale of mitigation and, more urgently, of adaptation measures that are more needed where the human impact already represents a threat to the ecosystems and to the natural resources.
Among the negative effects, is recognized how the Mediterranean countries, and Italy is one of those, are experiencing a change of the typical climate factors, specially related to the rainfall regime. In despite of just a small reduction of the total amount of water that reaches the ground from the atmosphere in the last decades, a real change of the hydrological regime is occurring.
This is shown by a temporal contraction of the meteoric events together with an increase of their consistence: it rains a little less and more rarely but with a higher intensity.
The upper Vicenza’s plain, widely studied from the hydrogeological point of view, represents a natural geologic reservoir of groundwater.
This land is therefore strategic for all the citizens who live in this area and who use this water resource.

The present drawdown’s trend is scientifically proved and a concrete effort for a reversal of this trend is needed and cannot be postponed any longer.
